Overcoming our past:

If life seems unfair to you, and if you're not privileged like others, or if you feel unloved, take courage. Whatever your past may have been, reach out in faith to God and rise above your circumstances. Overcome the devil, the world, and the sinful nature by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is not what you have been, but what you are and can become in Christ Jesus that counts. In Him life becomes fair, for He loves everyone alike. Give Him your past, present, and future.
